1. General Article Policy

Jurnal Guru Dikmen dan Diksus (JGDD) recognizes the importance of the integrity and completeness of the scholarly record to researchers, educators, and librarians. The journal places the highest importance on maintaining trust in the reliability and authority of its digital archive.

The Editor-in-Chief and editorial team are responsible for deciding which manuscripts submitted to JGDD may be accepted for publication. Editorial decisions are guided by the journal's editorial policies, peer-review assessments, publication ethics, and applicable legal requirements, including those concerning defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.

Published articles form part of the permanent scholarly record and should remain accessible, accurate, and unaltered whenever possible. However, exceptional circumstances may require an article to be withdrawn before formal publication, retracted after publication, removed from online access for legal reasons, or replaced with a corrected version.

Such actions will not be undertaken lightly. JGDD will assess each case individually, follow applicable publication ethics standards, and maintain appropriate records of editorial decisions. Where possible and legally permissible, article metadata and notices explaining editorial actions will remain available to preserve the transparency and integrity of the scholarly record.

01

Article Withdrawal

Article withdrawal applies primarily to Articles in Press or manuscripts that have been accepted but have not yet been formally published in a journal issue. Withdrawal may be considered when an article contains significant errors, has been submitted or processed accidentally more than once, or raises credible concerns about compliance with publication ethics.

Examples of circumstances that may warrant withdrawal include:

  • Accidental duplication of another published article.
  • Multiple or simultaneous submission in violation of the journal's policies.
  • Credible concerns about authorship, plagiarism, or fraudulent use of data.
  • Other serious violations of publication ethics identified before formal publication.
Editorial Procedure

The Editors will assess the available evidence and, where appropriate, seek an explanation from the author. If withdrawal is justified, the journal may remove the article's full-text HTML and PDF from public access and retain an appropriate bibliographic record or withdrawal notice, subject to applicable legal and ethical requirements.

02

Article Retraction

Retraction applies to an article that has already been formally published and is subsequently found to contain serious problems that undermine its reliability or publication integrity. Grounds may include fabrication or falsification of data, plagiarism, substantial errors, duplicate publication, authorship fraud, or other serious breaches of research and publication ethics.

Retraction may also be considered when necessary to correct the scholarly record in accordance with applicable publication ethics guidance. Decisions will be based on the evidence available and will take into account the seriousness of the concern.

Retraction Procedures

  1. A retraction notice will be prepared, identifying the retracted article and explaining the reason for retraction as clearly as appropriate.
  2. The notice will be published or linked in a manner that makes it discoverable and connected to the original article.
  3. The original article's bibliographic information and publication history will be retained where possible.
  4. The PDF may be marked clearly as retracted, and the article's online record will display a prominent retraction notice.
  5. The journal may restrict or remove the full-text HTML where justified, while preserving an appropriate record of the retraction.

JGDD follows applicable best-practice guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when handling retractions.

03

Article Removal: Legal Limitations

In exceptional circumstances, it may be necessary to remove an article's full text from the journal's online archive. Removal may be considered when the article is defamatory, infringes legal rights, is subject to a valid court order, or presents a serious risk of harm if acted upon. The journal will consider the applicable legal requirements and seek appropriate advice where necessary.

Preservation of the Record

Where legally permissible, the article's metadata, such as its title, authors, publication details, and DOI, will be retained. The full text may be replaced with a notice explaining that the article has been removed for legal or other exceptional reasons, without disclosing confidential or legally restricted information.

04

Article Replacement

Article replacement may be considered in exceptional circumstances when a published article contains errors that could pose a serious risk of harm if its findings are relied upon, and the authors provide a corrected version that adequately addresses the problem.

In such cases, the journal may follow the retraction procedure for the original article and publish or link to the corrected replacement article. The relationship between the original and replacement versions must be clearly documented so that readers can understand the publication history.

Replacement Requirements
  • The corrected version must be reviewed and approved through an appropriate editorial process.
  • A clear notice must explain the reason for replacement and identify the affected version.
  • The original publication record and links between versions should be maintained where possible.

5. Editorial Assessment and Fairness

Decisions concerning withdrawal, retraction, removal, or replacement will be made by the Editors based on the available evidence, the seriousness of the issue, relevant ethical guidance, and applicable legal requirements. Authors and other relevant parties may be contacted and given a reasonable opportunity to respond, where appropriate.

The journal will handle allegations and supporting information responsibly, respect confidentiality where required, and avoid treating an allegation as proof of misconduct. Editorial action will be proportionate to the circumstances and intended to protect readers and the integrity of the scholarly record.

6. Digital Archive and Publication History

JGDD aims to maintain an accurate and transparent record of its published content. When an article is corrected, retracted, withdrawn, removed, or replaced, the journal will preserve appropriate metadata, notices, and links to relevant versions whenever possible and legally permissible.

The journal may review and update this policy as publication ethics standards and scholarly archiving practices evolve. Feedback from researchers, librarians, authors, and other members of the scholarly community is welcome.

OUR COMMITMENT

Jurnal Guru Dikmen dan Diksus (JGDD) is committed to protecting the integrity, reliability, and transparency of the scholarly record. Through fair editorial assessment, responsible correction and retraction practices, and appropriate preservation of publication history, the journal seeks to maintain trust in scholarly communication and educational research.
