Plagiarism Screening Policy

Jurnal Guru Dikmen dan Diksus (JGDD) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring the originality of every manuscript submitted for publication. All manuscripts are screened for similarity by the Editorial Board through the examination of references, quotations, and relevant previously published works.

Similarity Threshold
20%
The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold must be revised to reduce similarity and improve originality before they can proceed to the next stage of editorial assessment.

The similarity index is used as an initial screening indicator and does not, by itself, establish whether plagiarism has occurred. The Editorial Board will assess the nature of matched text, including appropriate citations, quotations, references, and possible instances of unattributed copying.

Plagiarism Detection Software

The Editorial Board uses plagiarism detection software, such as iThenticate, to identify textual similarities between submitted manuscripts and existing publications or other available sources.

Screening Process
01
Reference Review
The Editorial Board reviews the clarity and adequacy of references and quotations, ensuring that sources are properly acknowledged and attributed.
02
Similarity Checking
Manuscripts are checked against relevant articles, previously published works, and other available sources to identify textual similarities and potential originality concerns.
03
iThenticate Screening
Plagiarism detection software is used to generate a similarity report. The Editorial Board evaluates the report to determine whether the manuscript meets the journal's originality requirements.
04
Editorial Decision
Manuscripts with a similarity index of 20% or less may proceed to further editorial assessment, subject to the evaluation of matched text. Manuscripts exceeding 20% must be revised and may be rescreened. Manuscripts containing evidence of plagiarism may be rejected regardless of their similarity score.
Editorial Note: The 20% similarity threshold is a screening guideline, not an automatic guarantee of acceptance. All manuscripts remain subject to editorial judgment, proper source attribution, originality requirements, and the journal's publication ethics standards.
