Abstract

Learning special programs, namely self-development elements of self-care is one of the obstacles experienced by children with intellectual disabilities. Reproductive Health Education (Kespro) is implemented in self-development learning. This study aims to improve the understanding of Healthcare Education through the application of differentiated learning for Intellectual Disability Students (PDDI). The subjects in the study were fourth grade mentally retarded students at SLB Negeri 1 Bangli, as many as 5 people with various characteristics. The main principle of PDDI learning is to pay attention to the interests of students, adapting the program to the needs and characteristics of students. Learning is done in a fun, meaningful and functional way. The research method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The design of this CAR uses the Kemmis and Mc Taggart CAR model with a continuous cycle through the stages of learning planning, learning implementation, learning observations, and reflection on learning outcomes. Learning implementation activities apply differentiated learning, namely learning that is carried out in diverse classes by providing services in content differentiation, process differentiation, and product differentiation or results of each student, so that students learn effectively. The result of this study is an increase in understanding of health education learning, so that students can increase independence, discipline, and responsibility in carrying out activities of daily life by learning in sustainable practices both at school and at home. Learning programs and activities are carried out according to the characteristics of students. Kespro education implemented can provide a deeper understanding for students, teachers, and for PDDI parents. The implementation of differentiated learning that has been carried out has a real impact on all parties directly involved.
